Pain can be dealt with in a number of ways, and one of them is also the simplest. That’s getting back with the ex girlfriend.

First thing you need to do is let her have her space, while she’s thinking about things and figuring them out. At the same time, you should think about your relationship and figure what went wrong and how you can fix it. It might be painful, but if you get back together without fixing the problems, you risk ending up in the same situation. You will probably need to change about you the things that made her want the break up.
Look at your relationship and try to see what the real problem was. In some cases, your girlfriend tells you why she wants to break up, so you might be lucky there, and already know the reason. Just in case she doesn’t tell you, you should try to find out what it was, which might be hard in some cases.
All the errors and flaws that made your girlfriend want to break up, you should try to remedy them. Instead, replace them with things you know she would enjoy and love about you. Each girl is different, and so are her expectations, so I can’t give you examples, as they might not work for your ex.
