Although juicers and food processors apparently do the same thing, they are different and perform different tasks. Basically, a juicer extracts the juice by smashing and separating the food, while a food processor chops, grates, slices and grinds food without separating it.
Juicer functions
The only function of a juicer is to extract juice from a wide range of fruits and vegetables, leaving behind two finished products. One of them is the squeezed juice, while the other is the pulp, which remains behind after the juice has been extracted.
Juicer types
Juicers are widely available in numerous models based on the required juicing function. Available models vary from the very basic to more complex ones. Juicers can be masticating, centrifugal or triturating ones. These three are all juice extractors. During the juicing process, they extract the juice, while the juice is also separated from the pulp.
In the case of a centrifugal juicer, the food is cut into small parts with a blade, which then spins with high speed extracting the juice.With a masticating juicer, the food is first “chewed” then forced through a screen. The pulp is eliminated, leaving you with a nutrient-rich juice.
Lastly, a triturating juicer smashed the food with gears. The pulp remains at the top of the gears, while the juice flows out through the specially designed holes. Generally, this type of juicer is the most expensive, but also the most effective model that is currently available.
Food processor functions
Basically, they do not work with liquids and food is also not separated, as the copped food is still together. Food processors have numerous functions, as they grate, chop, knead, grind, shave, slice, crush and puree.

Food processors are not available in many models or types. They can be hand-powered, mostly used for chopping a reduced amount of onion, for instance and electrically powered ones. Actually, a food processor is all about its blade attachment. The blade is the one that actually differentiates one food processor from the other.
A food processor comes along with a basic s-shaped blade for basic slicing functions. Other discs and blades allow you to prepare different doughs, including bread or pizza. There are also attachments that can grind up spices or are able to whisk eggs for delicious meringues.
