Aero California airlines based in La Paz, Baja Califirnia Sur, Mexico, has its hub at Manuel Marquez de Leon International Airport, La Paz, and it has fight services to over 19 destinations in North America.

The airline began in 1960 as an air taxi company based at La Paz, in Baja California Sur under the name of Servicios Aereos. Initially it began with two flying Cessna and Beechcraft 18. In early 1980s, Douglas DC-3s were added on, as domestic charters increased. Aero California began its business in 1982 with Mexico City International Airport as its operational hub, and La Paz, Mexico as its headquarters. 

Scheduled services commenced in June 1982 between La Paz, Tijuana and Hermosillo using Convair 340 aircraft and later DC9-15s. The first international scheduled service took off in 1989 between Los Angeles and La Paz, and Loreto and Los Cabos. In 1995, Aero California upgraded all its aircrafts to jet-types with Douglas DC-9-14/15 jets and even longer versions – Douglas DC-9-32s. Aero California’s fleet comprises 10 McDonnell Douglas DC-9-10 jets and 23 McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30 jets with 115 passenger seats.

Aero California is the third largest airline in Mexico, with flight services to 20 cities in Mexico which include Chihuahua, Colima, Durango, Guadalajara, La Paz, Los Mochis, Mexico City, Monterrey, Tepic, Tijuana and Veracruz, just to name a few. Aero California is also planning to commence its flight operations to destinations like Ciudad Victoria, Los Cabos, Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta.
